Dr. Phil discovered chiropractic care after being injured in a forklift accident. For eight months, he suffered with debilitating pain as the medical doctors he was seeing failed to correct the problems. Finally, facing surgery, he tried chiropractic as a last-ditch effort to avoid spinal surgery. Chiropractic care got him out of pain and opened his eyes to another way of helping people.

He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, in 1999 and then practiced in New Jersey for 18 years. Drawn to Jacksonville for the year-round golf, Dr. Phil worked as an associate for five years before opening Duval Spine & Rehab in 2023 so that he could offer patients the in-depth care they deserve.
